Liverpool-based hospitality and property development company, Signature Living, has joined the Educate Awards as an associate sponsor.
On the back of an exciting period of growth, Signature Living is sponsoring the Spirit of Enterprise Award, which recognises schools that are championing enterprise skills.
Who better to profile entrepreneurship than owners Lawrence and Katie Kenwright, who have built a hugely successful business in just over a decade?
Since opening its first hotel in 2008, the Signature Living Group has grown massively. The group now operates five hotels including Signature Living Hotel, 30 James Street – home of the Titanic, The Shankly Hotel and the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff.
The company also has a further nine hotels currently in development, which includes Loyolla Hall in St Helens, the football-themed Dixie Dean in Liverpool, the second Shankly Hotel in Preston and the soon to be opened George Best hotel in Belfast.
As a former student at Alsop High School in Walton, Lawrence also has ambitious plans to open a centre of excellence where young people can learn new skills, gain experience and vocational qualifications.
Signature Living employs over 700 people across a wide range of sectors with no zero hour contracts.
Lawrence Kenwright, chairman of Signature Living, said: “I’m proud to be an associate sponsor of these awards. Developing and nurturing talent, including young people from all backgrounds, runs through the Signature Living DNA.
“Our staff are at the beating heart of the business and we know that equipping the next generation with the skills for the future is not just important to us as a company, but important to the wider economy too.”
The Signature Living Sprit of Enterprise Award will recognise schools that are encouraging pupils to develop awareness and an understanding of entrepreneurship across the curriculum.
Previous winners include New Park Primary School (2016), Bebington High School Farm (2017) and Morecambe Bay Community Primary School (2018).
