5 ways All About STEM are inspiring the next generation!

This year’s Educate Awards will mark All About STEM’s fifth year as an associate sponsor, so to celebrate we take a look at 5 ways they are inspiring the next generation of STEM specialists…

The All About STEM team work on lots of different projects to bring exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to schools across the North West.

Described as the ‘hidden wiring in the system’, they are working hard to build and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, industry, colleges and universities so that they can strategically match-make opportunities with need.

On returning to sponsor the Awards, Michelle Dow, managing director, said: “All About STEM are proud to return as sponsors of the STEM Project of the Year.

“It is so important that we celebrate our fantastic schools and teachers who are inspiring the workforce of the future. The Educate Awards are one of the highlights of our calendar, and we hope to play our part for many years to come.”

5 ways All About STEM are inspiring the next generation!

1. Make It Work Robotics Challenge for schools

Over the next six months, All About STEM will be facilitating a series of free-to-attend events for schools where students will have the chance to build a VEX robot and battle it out in an exciting arena-style competition.

Supported by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram, the sessions will showcase careers linked to robotics, highlight pathways into them in and develop skills.

2. The LCR Skills Show 2019

Brought to you by Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Hub and organised by All About STEM, the Liverpool City Region Skills Shows are a series of four free day events hosted locally to you in Halton, Knowsley and St Helens, Liverpool and Sefton.

Bringing local employers, apprenticeship providers, colleges and universities under one roof, each show will feature ‘have a go’ stands; knowledge talks and apprenticeship ambassadors.

3. The Big Bang North West

The Big Bang North West is a STEM celebration which enables young people to discover the exciting and rewarding science, technology, engineering and maths based careers available in the local area via fun ‘quick hitting’ hands-on action.

4. STEM Ambassador Hub

As part of the STEM learning family, All About STEM manages the STEM Ambassador Hub in Merseyside, Cheshire and Warrington.

The STEM Ambassador Programme aims to connect young people with volunteers from a variety of STEM backgrounds, helping them to get excited about STEM subjects and to recognise the links between the school curriculum and possible future career pathways.

5. Crest Awards

As the North West Regional CREST Support Organisation, All About STEM promote CREST Awards across the region.

The Awards encourage students to work like scientists, researchers, engineers and designers to investigate and explore their own project ideas.
